The Kids Care Invitational (TKCI) is an annual charity golf tournament which was started in 2005 by a bunch of 12 avid golfers.   The aim of the tournament is to bring together a great group of blokes and play some of the finest golf courses in Australia, and possibly the world. The emphasis is on fun and camaraderie, with the purpose of raising money for charity.  In 2008 the numbers of players was increased to 16.

As the name of the tournament suggests the underlying theme is one of helping kids. The title has been left deliberately broad to enable changes of charity from time to time if necessary, but always with a focus on kids, where kids can also be youths.  The intention is to support charities for an extended period.  The preference is for the charity to be an emerging group where our contribution will be meaningful and where we can provide assistance to the group over a number of years as they grow.

One of the charities we are continuing to support is Cure our Kids. Given the smaller size of the selected charity it also enables us to get more involved with the charity in between the tournaments.  To accumulate the tournament’s overall donation, events are held in the weeks leading up to the tournament and during the weekend which everyone participates in as well as sponsorship.

In the first year (2005) we played at 3 of the best golf courses on the Mornington Peninsula in Victoria.   A region that is fast becoming a golfing mecca in Australia, with a dozen or so top quality courses now on offer. In 2006 we played 3 of the best golf courses in South Australia, all of which are rated in the top 50 golf courses in Australia.  2 courses were located in the city of Adelaide and the 3rd was located on the beautiful Fleurieu Peninsula south of Adelaide.  In 2007 we played three of the best golf courses on the Gold Coast, all rated in the top 50 golf courses in Australia (The Glades, Hope Island & Brookwater).
